Unreleased 1974 Harry Beckett live session out now

A previously unreleased live session by the late British jazz trumpeter Harry Beckett is now available on vinyl and digital release on My Only Desire Records. The album, titled Still Happy, was released on May 13 and was remastered from original tapes of a recording from 1974, which was intended for the BBC Radio 2 show Jazz Club.

Still Happy features Beckett’s twin saxophone line-up, with Alan Wakeman on tenor and Don Weller on soprano, alongside pianist Brian Miller, bassist Paul Hart, drummer John Webb and percussionist Robin Jones.

Its track list includes reworked versions of compositions that would appear on his 1975 album, Joy Unlimited, while the title track has never been released on any format until now.

Still Happy is currently available on vinyl as a limited edition pressing of 500 copies.
