New Orleans’ Preservation Hall Jazz Band has announced 33 dates for its upcoming U.S. tour. It will begin with a performance at the New Orleans Jazz Fest on April 30 and is scheduled to end with a show featuring the Yonder Mountain String Band and Drive By Truckers at the Red Rocks Amphitheater on August 20.
The tour will also include 8 dates with folk rock group Edward Sharpe and the Magnetic Zeros, as well as a 4-night residency at the Miner Auditorium, located in San Francisco’s SFJAZZ Center.
The Preservation Hall Jazz Band has been touring and recording non-stop since 1963, with the mission to protect, preserve and perpetuate New Orleans Jazz across America. In 2013, the band released That’s It!, their very first album composed entirely of original material.
