Music from the Opening Ceremony of the Olympic Games Paris 2024 (BMG Music)

“I couldn’t be more proud to release Music from the Opening Ceremony of the Olympic Games Paris 2024, an album that compiles a selection of pieces I wrote and produced for the Olympic Games. Two years of work were necessary to complete this original soundtrack, recorded with more than 600 musicians of all aesthetics, including Orchestre National de France, Choeur and Maîtrise de Radio France, Orchestre de Paris, Ensemble Intercontemporain and many more. After being watched by billions, I hope it can now be heard as well,” says Victor le Masne.

After the release of the Official Theme for the Olympic and Paralympic Games Paris 2024, “Parade,” which accompanied all the major moments of the Games this summer, and the release of “Mea Culpa (Ah! Ça ira!)” the fiery performance by Gojira and Marina Viotti during the Opening Ceremony of the Olympic Games, nominated for a Grammy Award, Victor le Masne and Paris 2024 announce today the release of an album featuring a selection of original compositions by Victor le Masne for the Opening Ceremony of the Olympic Games.

Known for his innovative approach to composition and production and his ability to blend musical genres, Victor le Masne placed music at the heart of the Games and crafted a bold soundtrack that merges electronic sounds with symphonic arrangements.
This album presents the result of two years of creation for the Paris 2024 Games, with compositions that embody the Olympic values of diversity, innovation, and universality.

The album includes 18 emblematic tracks from this memorable event, each track representing a specific soundscape or scene from the Opening Ceremony, such as “SynchroniCity,” an orchestral tribute to the builders of Notre-Dame de Paris, “Higher,” a breathless composition accompanying the mysterious rider’s journey along the Seine, and “Infinite (Reveal of the Rings),” an electrifying track marking the unveiling of the Olympic rings on the Eiffel Tower.

Recorded with over 600 musicians from all musical backgrounds, including the Orchestre National de France conducted by Barbara Dragan, the Radio France Choir and Maîtrise conducted by Josep Vila i Casanas and Marie-Noëlle Maerten, the Ensemble Intercontemporain conducted by Mehdi Lougraïda, the Orchestre and Choir of Paris conducted by Richard Wilberforce, the Percussions de Strasbourg, and pop ensembles conducted by Victor le Masne, this album is the official soundtrack of the Opening Ceremony on July 26th.

With this album, Victor le Masne delivers the musical essence of this historic event, which captivated billions of spectators, offering a pluralistic work that will likely continue to inspire and unite people across the world.
