Artist Biography

Brad Felt (1956–2011) was an American tuba and euphonium player, composer, bandleader and educator. His work extended modern jazz traditions, using tuba and euphonium as lead and featured solo instruments. A veteran of two European tours with Howard Johnson’s Gravity, he shared the stage with Roy Brooks, James Carter, Gerald Cleaver, Freddie Hubbard, Dave Liebman, Hank Jones, Bennie Maupin, Frank Foster, Thad Jones and many others. John Dana (1941-2018) performed with Anita O’Day, Donald Byrd, Roland Kirk, Art Blakey, Rashid Ali, Kenny Dorham, James “Blood” Ulmer, Stanley Cowell, the Glen Miller Orchestra led by Buddy DeFranco and many others.
