Artist Biography

Described as an “intoxicating vocalist” (Vancouver Sun) with an “individually rigorous tone” (Ben Ratliff, New York Times), Jerusalem-born and Montreal-based composer and vocalist, Ayelet Rose Gottlieb is an international performer, an explorer of sound and a seeker of musical adventures. Her unique blend of jazz, middle-eastern & Jewish music, combined with her innovative approach to composition and improvisation has led her to fascinating collaborations. Ayelet’s multilingual and multicultural approach is a constant thread through all of her work. Her new recording, “13 Lunar Meditations: Summoning the Witches” is her eleventh album as a bandleader or co-leader.
