A limited edition vinyl collection in celebration of guitarist and composer Lee Ritenour was released by Concord Records on April 22.
The box-set, titled The Vinyl LP Collection, celebrates a key period in Ritenour’s prolific solo career, and is composed by five of his albums: Earth Run (1986), Portrait (1987), Festival (1988), Color Rit (1989) and Wes Bound (1993). The latter album, which was nominated for a GRAMMY Award, is released on vinyl for the first time.
Each limited edition box-set is individually numbered. The albums have all been remastered, pressed on audiophile quality, and restored with original liner notes and artwork. In addition, the box-set comes with an accompanying 46-page booklet featuring new liner notes by Ritenour, along with photos and ephemera, all culled from an extensive collection kept by the guitarist’s late father.
The Vinyl LP Collection includes such personnel as Academy Award winning composer Dave Grusin, saxophonist Kenny G and singer songwriter Caetano Veloso.
