The fifth edition of the Love Supreme Jazz Festival will take place next year in Glynde Place, England, from June 30 to July 2. Guitarist and vocalist George Benson has already been announced as one of its main headliners. He will take to the Main Stage on July 2.
Benson’s career spans over 50 years. His prolific discography began in 1964 with his debut album The New Boss Guitar. That same year, he also appeared on Miles Davis’ jazz-rock album Miles in the Sky.
Benson achieved mainstream success with his 1976 record Breezin’, produced by Tommy LiPuma. The album also won multiple Grammy Awards, including Record of the Year for one of its tracks, “This Masquerade,” on which he also sang lead vocals.
“I’m looking forward to performing at the Love Supreme Jazz Festival in 2017,” commented Benson on what will be his debut appearance at the Love Supreme Jazz Festival. “The UK fans are some of the best in the world and every show is a special experience.”
