Dan Cray to celebrate the release of his new album in Chicago

Pianist Dan Cray will be celebrating the release of his new album, Outside In, with two performances in his hometown of Chicago, Illinois at the Green Mill. The sets will take place on the 17th and the 18th of June. Both concerts are scheduled to kick off at 9 p.m. and end at 1 a.m.

Outside In will be released on Origin Records on June 20 and marks Cray’s second outing on the label. It was inspired by the year Cray spent working in the Sierras and hiking in Big Sur and features drummer Mark Ferber and bassist Clark Sommers.

Its track-list comprises a mixture of Cray’s own original compositions and arrangements of several rarely heard standards to, as stated in a press release, “offer a meditation on nature and the search for peace wherever the listeners are.”
