The New Orleans Jazz & Heritage Festival, affectionately known as Jazz Fest, is an annual celebration of the rich musical and cultural heritage of New Orleans and Louisiana. Established in 1970 by George Wein, the festival has grown from its humble beginnings into a world-renowned event that attracts thousands of visitors each year.
The 2025 Jazz Fest is scheduled from April 24 to May 4 at the Fair Grounds Race Course, a historic horse racing track located in the Mid-City neighborhood of New Orleans. This venue has been the festival’s home since 1972, providing ample space for multiple stages, food vendors, and artisan booths.

Notable jazz performers this year are Branford Marsalis, Kamasi Washington, Ledisi, Yellowjackets, Rickie Lee Jones, Stanley Clarke, Randy Brecker and Dee Dee Bridgewater. The festival also highlights local talent such as Trombone Shorty & Orleans Avenue, Monk Boudreaux and the Golden Eagles, and Harry Connick Jr., ensuring that the city’s indigenous music styles remain at the forefront.
