The Berklee Global Jazz Institute will be hosting a series of free concerts, workshops and jam sessions featuring world-renowned jazz artists mentoring and performing with students. All events will take place at The Zero Gravity Room in Boston.
Berklee’s artistic director, pianist-composer Danilo Pérez, and its managing director, saxophonist-composer Marco Pignataro, will be joined by many visiting artists. Among them, trumpeter Terence Blanchard, bassists Ricardo del Fra and John drummer Terri Lyne Carrington and saxophonist Joe Lovano.
Pérez explained “We are opening the doors to the Berklee Global Jazz Institute to enable the community to experience some of the best performers of the international jazz world performing with our students the foremost jazz artists of tomorrow.”
The Spring events started on February 24 with shows featuring Carrington and Patitucci. They are currently scheduled to run until May 3. For more information and a full line-up schedule, visit https://www.berklee.edu/focused/global-jazz
