Ella Fitzgerald limited edition bronze busts go on sale

British sculptor Laura Lian has created a portrait bust of Ella Fitzgerald in a new limited edition series of bronzes, in celebration of her career and her contribution to the world’s musical heritage.

Each of the 12 life-sized busts in the series weighs 8kgs, and will be offered at a starting price of £6,500. A percentage of the proceeds from the sales will go directly to The Ella Fitzgerald Charitable Foundation, which was founded in 1993 by the First Lady of Song, who was a quiet but ardent supporter of many charities and non-profit organizations throughout her life.

Fran Morris Rosman, executive co-director of The Ella Fitzgerald Charitable Foundation, said “Lian’s artistic experience serves as the perfect mode for remembering Ella Fitzgerald and the melodic impact she left on each and every one of us. The final artwork of this collaboration is a beautiful portrayal of Ella’s legacy and timelessness; we are very pleased with the art.”
