Canadian Jazz Guitarist, Composer Orhan Demir was born in Turkey in 1954 on September 29th. Orhan Demir didn`t get his first guitar until he was 14. Some of his earliest influences include the principal groups ofthe “1970`s jazz-fusion” era and afterwards the cream of the 1950`s and 1960`s , jazz stylists (John Coltrane, Miles Davis, Archie Shepp, Eric Dolphy, Ornette Coleman, Django Reinhardt, Charles Mingus, etc ). In 1977 he left Turkey and came to Montreal, Canada. Since then he`s stayed in Montreal for many years, making friends among the musical community of that city before finally moving to Toronto
